111 – Irish Race Review – Part 3

111 – Irish Race Review – Part 3

Todays Guest

Robert Lynn – Freewheelin.ie

On episode #111 it is my pleasure to welcome Robert back on the show to chat about and round-up the Irish race scene over the 2019 racing season. We follow on from our last review show, #100 (listen here) and rap up what has been an exciting and non-stop season of new trails, new podiums and fast new comers.

There has been lots happening over the last few months, champions have been crowned, new up and coming youth is starting to challenge the fastest of the veterans and competitor numbers have been amazing. As always we have seen a number of great events over the season with great organisation, fab facilities and awesome racing. For such a small island we really do things very well but none of this would happen if it wasn’t for the rider support and the great numbers turning up to events most weekends. It takes a lot of commitment, time and money to attend a number of racing events over the season but as I have said time and time again, this great mountain bike community never lets us down. The racers show up, spectators show up and of course volunteers give up their free time to be marshals and make every race happen. It is an awesome scene and it will only get better with commitment and support like that.

Robert was passionate as always and grabbed a number of racers after events for a quick audio interview including, Harry Byrne, Brendan Conroy, Beefy Mullan, Hannah Harvey, Callum Morris and Peter Davison. So put your feet up and find out how the season ended, who was on the top of the podiums and what we have to look forward to in 2020 plus lots more chat from the 2019 season.

Enjoy the show!
