214 – Biking The Glens with Campbase Adventures
Today’s Guest:
Founder and Co-Owner of Campase Adventures, Adam Lowry
On episode #214 in partnership with MountainbikeNI On ’Yer Bike Campaign, it is my pleasure to welcome Adam Lowry, founder and co-owner of Campbase Adventures on the podcast. Adam and his partners started Campbase Adventures in 2021 and have been running an uplift service at Gortin Glens Forest Park since that time.
Their business has been developing at a fast pace and they have loads more planned in the near future to help riders get out more, get up the mountain easier and introduce new riders to mountain biking.
So join us as we chat about Campbase Adventures, their uplift service, future plans and where to find natural trails at Gortin, plus much more.
Thanks for tuning in and for your support!

I have been following Campbase Adventures on social media since their start up and have been impressed with how they have focused not only on the mountain biking side of things, but also on the customer service element. Adam and his partners have been constantly thinking of ways to make your riding experience at Gortin better, easier and more enjoyable. They have bikes of all sizes and types you can hire, including helmet and knee pads etc. They have also started e-bike tours around the Glens which have been super successful, but they haven’t stopped at that.
They are hoping to introduce a static base which will include a hire department, small shop and a MTB Membership Area with mechanical assistance from a qualified mechanic, just in case you happen to run into bike issues on the trails. All this coupled with a fantastic cafe only 2 minutes walk away, Gortin is shaping up to be the place to be.
Did I mention phase 2 of the trail network?
Yep, phase 2 with a little help from the MTB gods should be happening in the near future!
That is something we all have to look forward to and as Adam says, there is massive scope for what the local councils and forestry can do around the Glens area. There are miles and miles of trail possibilities just waiting to get that grant funding. So let’s all say our MTB prayers, be nice to our fellow bikers, don’t drop litter in our local forests and hopefully such a dream may come true.
So join us as we chat about the birth of Campbase Adventures, how their uplift service works, future plans for their Gortin site and exciting things that are happening in the near future plus lots lots more!
Thanks for being here and enjoy the show.
