107 – Supporting Their Local MTB Scene with Surrey Hills Clothing Co. Todays Guest
Todays Guest
Ollie Robertson – Founder and Owner of Surrey Hills Clothing Co.
On episode #107 we are chatting with Ollie Robertson the founder and owner of Surrey Hills Clothing Co about his very cool MTB clothing and accessories brand. After coming across the Surrey Hills Clothing Co website and having a quick look around, I liked what I saw. The tee’s looked good, the images and designs were great and the site was simple and easy to use. As always my mind started to wonder about why Ollie started the brand, what his riding scene was like, what was his background in MTB and what his plans were for the future of his Surrey Hills MTB clothing brand. So I reached out, got in contact and Ollie was kind enough to come on the show and share his story.

106 – From Trials to MTB Podiums In A Few Weeks: We Chat with Chris Brown
Today Guest
Chris Brown
It’s episode #106 and it is my pleasure to be chatting with Chris Brown. Chris has been taking the Irish enduro race scene by storm this season and though there is nothing strange about that, the thing that is strange however, is that Chris has never raced a mountain bike before. In fact, Chris has not been on a mountain bike for years. So why is he so fast, skill full and standing on podiums after jumping on a bike only a few weeks before his first race? I didn’t know but I had to find out, so I asked Chris to come on the show and tell us his story.

104 – Setting The Standards In International Mountain Bike Travel with H+I Adventures
Todays Guest
Euan Wilson – Owner and Founder of H+I Adventures
On episode #104 it is my pleasure to welcome Euan Wilson, owner and founder of H+I Adventures onto the show. I was first introduced to H+I Adventures when Victoria, a staff member of Euan’s got in contact via LinkedIn and thought their mountain bike adventure company would make a good fit for show. Victoria was correct. When I checked out their website and what they offered I was blown away. The word adventure can sometimes be used to much these days but definitely not in this case. H+I Adventures offer MTB tours in the most spectacular destinations across the globe, from Scotland, Nepal and Norway, to Switzerland, Morocco and the Yukon in Canada. And that is just to name a few. These guys have the best destinations on the planet.

Julie Cornelius – Founder of World Ride – Mountain bike adventures that support women’s mountain biking worldwide
It’s episode #103 and we are chatting with Julie Cornelius founder of World Ride, the Non-Profit travel company that’s getting ladies out riding across the globe. I was first introduced to Julie from a good friend of the show Matt Hartell who owns a couple of MTB travel companies, Epic Pisgah Mountain Bike Adventures and Old Town Outfitters. Matt has been on the podcast a couple of times so when Matt put me in contact with Julie and told me what she was doing I just had to get her on the show.

102 – Jacob Dickson – 3 Time Irish Elite Downhill MTB Champion
Today's Guest
Jacob Dickson- 3 time Irish Elite Downhill MTB Champion.
On episode #102 I am joined by the 3 time Irish Elite Downhill MTB Champion Jacob Dickson. If you want to know what it takes to be at this level on the world circuit and be a professional mountain biker, then this is the episode for you. Jacob has been racing from eleven or twelve years of age and has seen a lot happen over that time. At age fifteen Jacob broke his neck and was told to stop riding bikes by many people but as soon as Jacob had his next brace off, he was racing the following day. Jacob has always had that kind of attitude, if you tell him he can’t do something, he will push harder to make sure he proves you wrong. But I do think it takes that kind of brawn to become world class at anything and that is a strength Jacob has in bucketful’s. Jacob’s parents have always played (and still do) a large part in this attribute, they never discouraged him, always supported him and were always there to give words of advice and encouragement. As Jacob says himself, he would not be doing this today if it was not for his parents.

101 – Fancy Morzine? Find Out More with the MTB Trail Hub
Today Guest
Jamie Carruthers creator of the very popular YouTube Channel MTB Trail Hub
Its episode #101 and I am joined by Jamie Carruthers from his popular YouTube channel called Mtb Trail Hub. I got to know Jamie through his social media platforms and then was quickly watching his trail review shows on his YouTube channel. Jamie’s channel is a little different from your usual mountain biking channel showing fast, dangerous death defying trail riding. When Jamie was on his mountain bike trail adventures he was finding it difficult to get proper trail information detailing runs, tips about where to ride, what trails to miss and what to look out for in different sections of the trails. All the information you would like to know before hitting any trail network.

100 – Irish Race Review – Part 2
Todays Guest
Robert Lynn – Freewheelin.ie
Its episode 100! and what better way to celebrate than to get Robert back on the show and do a mid-season review of the Irish race scene. There has been loads happening, lots of great results, surprise results, falls, slips, breaks, venue changes, we have seen it all over the last 3 months or so. There is loads to chat about and never a dull moment in the Irish race calendar. We first got together on episode #85 (listen here) to review the first part of the season and it went down so well, it would be rude not to cover the rest of the season in the same fashion. So this will be our mid season review and after the season is all said and done we will get together and do a full season recap. I am really looking forward to it.

099 – Ronan Dunne – Irish Junior DH National Champion
Todays Guest
Irish Ripper, Junior DH National Champion and all round Speed Demon – Ronan Dunne
On episode #99 we are chatting to Irish Ripper and Irish Junior DH National Champion, Ronan Dunne. Surprisingly Ronan has only been riding mountain bikes for around four years but has already made a name for himself in both the downhill scene and enduro scene here in Ireland (he did try cross country but quickly found out that wasn’t for him!). After chatting with Ronan it doesn’t surprise me XC is not his thing because Ronan only seems to want to go fast and fast he does well. In the opening round of the Irish Downhill Mountain Bike Series (IDMS) in Carrick, Ronan had the 2nd fastest time behind Greg Callaghan, so its not hard to see where his passions lie.

Brian Kennedy, or as he’s known from his awesome YouTube Channel…BKXC
This episode first aired 22-03-2018, but it’s time to revisit an old classic. Enjoy!
It is episode number Twenty Eight (well #98 now) and I am so delighted to have Brain Kennedy from his YouTube Channel BKXC on the show. Brian has build his YouTube Channel up over the last couple of years to 130K (288K Now!) followers. We chat about how Brian got the idea for the channel, how it grew so quickly and why he thinks it has been received so well. Plus much much more.

096 – Nukeproof Mega 275c Pro Review with Robert from Freewheelin.ie
Todays Guest
Robert Lynn for Freewheelin.ie
On episode #96 we’re reviewing the Nukeproof Mega 275C Pro Carbon with Robert from Freewheeling.ie. We had Robert on the show back in episode #82 (listen here) where we reviewed the 2019 Vitus Escarpe 29 VRX. Chain Reaction Cycles Belfast were so impressed with the last review that they kindly lent Robert the 2019 Nukeproof Mega 275C Pro to review for the last number of weeks. Also, stick around to the end of the show where we review the Nukeproof Horizon Pro Sam Hill Flat Pedals.

095 – 1st Ever Rwanda Enduro In East Africa
Todays Guest
Moses King & Simon Blake – Pushing MTB Forward in East Africa
On episode #95 we are chatting with Moses King and Simon Blake, part of the crew behind starting and making the first enduro race in Rwanda happen. The race took place over the 24-26 May 2019 so we are a little late getting this out to you guys. We tried a number of times to make it happen with the majority of the organisers involved, getting everybody on one call. We first tried straight after the race but we couldn’t get a strong enough internet connection to make this happen. I wanted to try and do it this way because we done it after the Elgon Enduro Uganda, episode #75 (listen here) and it worked out great. But sadly as soon as the race was over people headed home and between time zones and internet connections we just couldn’t get it to work. It was not for the lack of trying. I think this was the fourth attempt.
